Lazy Girls….

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa the other day reminded me of all of the sweet memories our kids will have of their house.

The beautiful natural setting, the trips to the beach, the outdoor games, scouring for beach glass and oh, right, the two, double-stuffed, Lazy-Boy chairs in the family room.

The girls race to the chairs the minute they walk in the door and the only difference between the two “winners” and an 80 year old couple is the ear buds and i-pods which I guess will one day become their hearing aids and over-sized tv remotes.

There is an unspoken battle the second the door opens and a mad dash to see who gets the chairs.

Hanna (after “winning” a seat in the first one) turns her chair four degrees to face the beach so she can enjoy nature the way it was intended, from a reclining chair through a thick pane of glass.

We’ve tried to lure the girls away from the chairs, “Hey look, two baby bunnies!”

Girls: We wouldn’t want to scare them away. The chair might squeak when we turn or get up.

There is a strategy to bathroom breaks.

When one stands up to race to the bathroom, the other has a chance to stretch.

The extra sibling also comes into play as she can be used as a pawn or “guard” of a chair if someone is in dire need of a drink or a break to dress bed sores.
